In the state, more than 26000 vacancies have been vacated in the police department on July 31 against a total of 1.08 lakh sanctioned institutes. However, the government has also clarified that the recruitment process for 9719 posts has been started. So that the spaces will be reduced to 16428.
According to the details submitted by the state government to the High Court, the vacant 8106 posts of the non-weapon police constables and 8016 of the weapons-constables are vacant. While the non-weapon police inspector's posts 465 and sub-inspector's posts are vacant 675, In addition, there are 4784 vacancies of various categories in the state police reserve force. Out of these vacancies, it is proposed to recruit for posts. 2017 filed a complaint by the High Court on the condition of working conditions for the police and several important vacancies in the state. In an affidavit filed in the Supreme Court in the 6th, the state government said that in the state, 5 seats were vacated in the state on January 1, against the sanctioned establishment of a total of 1.5 lakh police forces. Subsequently, on March 7, the Supreme Court ordered the High Court to take suoamoto action and asked the state of Gujarat to clarify the current situation of the police department.
